The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery offers a wide range of health-care services aimed at optimizing patient health in general and oral health in particular. This faculty of dentistry poses as the most daunting of specialties as it assumes direct moral responsibility for patient life. Ever since its inception, maxillofacial surgery has been expanding not only into other arenas of dentistry, but into the fraternity of medicine as well, imparting ever new dimensions to its image. We train undergraduate and post graduate pupils to imbibe and perform basic skills of clinical diagnosis and treatment and develop with astuteness the ability to recognize and manage complications and medical emergencies. With a seasoned mix of commitment and resolve, the department faculty offers services with a human touch. Infection control practices are on par with those recommended internationally. Equipped with state-of-the-art operating rooms, postoperative recovery rooms and wards for recuperation, we aim at keeping quality of health at a maximum. Our department has extended services to SS Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Center and JJ Medical College & Hospital to enroll postgraduates in various peripheral (medical) departments on a rotation basis. Serving as a bastion of continued learning and excellence, the department in particular, and the college in general, strive at collaborating with centers of quality research, education and service, to provide sustainable levels of education, growth and development to our students and staff and above all our patients the best of our ability.
