The Department of Conservative dentistry and Endodontics startedat college of dental sciences in the year 1992. The postgraduate course started in the year 1996 and with an intake of 2 seats initially and subsequently it was revised to 6 seats. Presently a total number of 32 dental units are present with all modern at college of dental sciences in the year 1992. The department has a separate undergraduate and postgraduate clinic,and this is complemented by separate laboratory,sterilization room,x-ray room and also a seminar hall.

A specil surgical section is at the disposal of the students which is equipped with Zeiss surgical microscope for endodontic surgeries & 3fully adjustable fibreoptic kavo amaedeus chairs.

Pre clinical laboratory is provided with 60 phantom head tables which allows sixty students to work at a time. Undergraduates and post graduates carry out basic exercises in this laboratory.

A single mind can do wonders. but many minds put together will work miracles! We, the department of conservative and endodontics, with conjunction with various other specialties aim to provide quality service with the ultimate beneficiary being the patient.

To site a few examples ,the treatment of endo- perio problems ,and crown lengthening for better retention and esthetics.

The combined effort with the prosthetics department helps in post treatment cases of RCT and post endodontically treated abutment teeth for a better outcome. Many of the advanced treatments require a multifaceted approach along with periodontics ,prosthodontics and orthodontics.
